yawn

super tired today. going back to work has taken it all out of me. i think that being home with some time off from work is a much better place for me to be. maybe i will just stop going to work totally. i am sure no one would catch on...until about 7:10am when my office is dark and people are already lined up at the door.

picked up malena today and on the way home she told me that she needed to go to the bathroom. so i stop at whole foods because i can tell we won't make it home. it is pouring (and i mean pooooouring) and it is super windy. my favorite weather to be in. i get her out, carry her into the store to make good time, get into the restroom and realize that one of her shoes fell off somewhere along the way. great. pretty sure that will be soaked when we get back outside. if i can find it. when we leave the restroom, malena sees bakery items and insists "mommy, i need a chocolate cupcake, i need a chocolate cupcake" and gets super excited. so i can't resist. i find the gluten free section, she sees a box with two chocolate muffins in it, and says "mommy, let's get those cupcakes so i can have one and you can have one, we can share". she is now even more excited. so we buy the muffins (aka cupcakes) and i pick her up to head out and brave the weather. as we walk outside i see her shoe. in the rain. soaked. on the pavement. and it had been run over by a car. i couldn't help but laugh because of course it was run over, why would i expect anything else? but we got to eat our cupcakes on the way home and loved them so it all turned out ok (maybe not so much from the shoe's perspective). a little unexpected adventure on the way home. perfect.

pretty sure that i need to call in sick tomorrow to do this project. minifanfan had this idea on their site today. yep, definitely feel the cold coming on. must stay home. need happy keyboard.
